As part of its endeavours to ensure that the health and wellbeing needs of its patient carers are addressed, Bennetts End Surgery is continuing to offer its patient carers an annual Carers’ Health Check in 2019. The current dates for the Carers’ Health Check Clinics are as follows:
Monday, 9th September, 2019
Whilst our patient carers will receive an invitation to attend an annual Carers’ Health Check with the GP over the course of the year, they may, of course, prefer to make an appointment in the Clinic at a time of their choosing.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer a clinic with a Carer Support Worker from Carers in Herts to run alongside the GP Carers’ Health Check Clinic so, should you like to make direct contact with Carers in Hertfordshire, please call them on 01992 586 969 or visit their website at www.carersinherts.org.uk
If you would like to speak to someone at the Practice about being a carer, please ask to speak to Pamela, our Carers’ Champion. The Surgery is keen to improve its identification of and support for unpaid carers, so we would be pleased to hear your suggestions as to how we may be able to assist.
Additionally, the Surgery will be engaging with NHS England and NHS Improvement’s “Supporting carers in general practice: a framework of quality markers”, first published in June 2019, as a model of good practice to follow in giving its patient carers greater recognition and support.
