Patient Online Services and Information Technology

Bennetts End Surgery is compliant with the following contractual requirements.

Referral Management:

The NHS number is included as the primary identifier in all NHS clinical correspondence issued by the Practice, whether in electronic form or otherwise, except in exceptional circumstances where the number cannot be ascertained.

Electronic appointment booking:

The Practice offers and promotes the facility for patients who wish to book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online.

Online booking of repeat prescriptions:

The Practice offers and promotes the facility for patients who wish to order, view and print a list of their repeat medications online.

Interoperable records:

The Practice enables successful automated uploads of any changes to a patient’s summary information to the Summary Care Record (SCR) on a daily basis (during the working week), unless the patient has specifically objected to the use of their data for this purpose.

The Practice utilises the GP2GP facility for the transfer of patient records between practices when a patient registers with or de-registers from the Surgery.

Patient access to their GP record:

The Practice offers and promotes the facility for patients to view online any summary information from their records relating to medications, allergies and adverse reactions.

Where the GP considers it to be reasonable, the Practice also offers online access to all detailed information — that is to say, information that is held in a coded form — within a patient’s electronic medical record.

Patients can find out more about how to book appointments, request repeat prescriptions and view their summary information regarding medications, allergies and adverse reactions online by viewing the “Appointments” page or the “Prescriptions” page of our website.
